Becoming aware of your personality (\u201cWho am I?\u201d)<\/span><\/h2>\n[\/nectar_highlighted_text][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221; text_direction=&#8221;default&#8221;]\n<p data-start=\"821\" data-end=\"1072\">Before going into an interview process, you should first become aware of your own <strong>personality<\/strong>. In a job interview, it\u2019s not only your professional qualifications that count, but above all, <em data-start=\"1002\" data-end=\"1019\">you as a person<\/em>\u00a0\u2014 your strengths, your values, and your motivations.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1074\" data-end=\"1600\">To support this, you can use models such as the so-called <strong data-start=\"1122\" data-end=\"1139\"><em>Johari Window<\/em><\/strong>*. Developed in the 1950s by the American social psychologists <strong data-start=\"1202\" data-end=\"1217\">Joseph Luft<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1222\" data-end=\"1238\">Harry Ingham<\/strong>, the model\u2019s name was derived from their first names \u2014 Joseph and Harry \u2014 forming \u201cJohari.\u201d The Johari Window (sometimes also called the Johari Grid) illustrates where self-perception and external perception overlap or differ. Ask trusted colleagues, relatives, or friends for <strong data-start=\"78\" data-end=\"148\">honest feedback:<\/strong> How do others perceive you? Which of your traits or behaviors might you not yet be aware of yourself? The Johari Window is not just about discovering<em><strong> blind spots<\/strong> <\/em>\u2014 it\u2019s about aligning your self-perception with how others see you, building <strong>mutual trust<\/strong>, and gaining a clearer, more holistic understanding of your personality.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1602\" data-end=\"2131\">Another highly valuable tool in your preparation is the\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/linc-north-america.com\/linc-personality-profiler\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>LINC Personality Profiler (LPP)*<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. <\/em>This online test is based on the <em><strong data-start=\"1729\" data-end=\"1747\">Big Five model*<\/strong><\/em> and provides a detailed profile of your personality \u2014 including your character traits, motives, and competencies. As a certified LPP coach, I can help you interpret your results and identify your personal strengths as well as areas for development. This gives you an even clearer picture of your personality and helps you use self-awareness strategically in the application process.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2133\" data-end=\"2541\">In my coaching sessions, I often complement the LPP with a questionnaire designed to identify your <em><strong data-start=\"2232\" data-end=\"2249\">Inner Drivers<\/strong>*<\/em> (based on the <strong data-start=\"2261\" data-end=\"2287\">Transactional Analysis<\/strong>, developed by Eric Berne and Thomas A. Harris). This helps uncover unconscious motivational forces that you may have internalised during childhood from parents or caregivers \u2014 and how to reduce or even eliminate them if they currently limit or even potentially harm you.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2543\" data-end=\"2801\">Practically speaking, you can also ask yourself what gives you energy and what drains it \u2014 this will help you recognise your personal <em data-start=\"2677\" data-end=\"2688\">resources<\/em> and <em data-start=\"2693\" data-end=\"2704\">stressors<\/em>. One helpful framework for this is the so called <em><strong data-start=\"2744\" data-end=\"2771\">StrengthR<\/strong><strong data-start=\"2744\" data-end=\"2771\">esource-Model<\/strong>*<\/em> developed by Jana Jeske.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2803\" data-end=\"2906\">To spark your process of <strong>self-reflection<\/strong>, consider asking yourself some<strong> fundamental questions<\/strong>, such as:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2908\" data-end=\"3130\">\n<li data-start=\"2908\" data-end=\"2976\">\n<p data-start=\"2910\" data-end=\"2976\">What kind of person would I like to be if I could choose freely?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2977\" data-end=\"3041\">\n<p data-start=\"2979\" data-end=\"3041\">What would I do (professionally) if failure were impossible?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3042\" data-end=\"3083\">\n<p data-start=\"3044\" data-end=\"3083\">What do I want to achieve in my life?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3084\" data-end=\"3130\">\n<p data-start=\"3086\" data-end=\"3130\">What does \u201csuccess\u201d mean to me personally?<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"3132\" data-end=\"3458\">Such reflection opens <strong>new perspectives<\/strong>: you may discover previously hidden desires or talents. With a clearer understanding of who you are, you\u2019ll appear more confident and authentic \u2014 a key advantage in any interview. Identifying your core competencies (\u201cWhat am I good at?\u201d)<\/span><\/h2>\n[\/nectar_highlighted_text][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221; text_direction=&#8221;default&#8221;]\n<p data-start=\"3533\" data-end=\"3877\">Beyond understanding your personality, you should be able to clearly articulate your professional and interpersonal competencies. One useful framework for this is the <em><strong data-start=\"3700\" data-end=\"3715\">SKATE model<\/strong><\/em>* (developed by Claas Triebel). Similar to the <em data-start=\"958\" data-end=\"980\">Moment of Excellence<\/em>, it is based on the principle of manifesting specific triggers that elicit an automatic subconscious response (also known as <strong><em data-start=\"1106\" data-end=\"1115\">priming<\/em><\/strong>). The aim is to mentally rehearse upcoming situations in as much detail as possible, so that your behavioural sequences become internalised. Applied to a job interview, this technique enables you to practise your best reaction to a challenging question.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1388\" data-end=\"1911\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; color: #808080;\"><strong data-start=\"1388\" data-end=\"1412\">Physical preparation<\/strong> can also make a big difference.
